The Americold Halwyn Expansion is a landmark $56 million industrial development that significantly increased South Island cold storage capacity, delivering more than 12,000m³ of purpose-built freezer storage to support New Zealand's growing chilled and frozen food supply chain.

Designed and constructed within a live operational environment, the facility incorporates three high-capacity freezer chambers, advanced storage systems and specialist refrigeration infrastructure engineered for long-term performance and operational efficiency. Through innovative construction methodologies, prefabrication and meticulous staging, Armitage Williams successfully integrated the expansion with existing operations while maintaining programme certainty, safety and uninterrupted business continuity.
